Update and Revision of Flood Damage Prevention Ordinance

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

          Pursuant to Section 17-1-15 of the Mississippi Code of 1972, Annotated, the Neshoba County Board of Supervisors hereby give notice of a public hearing, to be held pursuant to the Board’s intention to revise the Neshoba County, Mississippi Flood Damage Prevention Ordinance, to be held on December 2, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. in the Board of Supervisors’ Meeting Room in the Neshoba County Courthouse, 2nd floor, 401 Beacon Street, Philadelphia, Mississippi.  Notice is further given that the purpose of said public hearing is to decide whether the public convenience and necessity require the revision of said ordinance to be compliant with Title 44 of the Code of Federal Regulations.  Said revision is based on the State model ordinance. 

          Said revised proposed ordinance is available for review and inspection in the Neshoba County Board of Supervisors’ office, the Neshoba County Chancery Clerk’s office or on the Neshoba County website at www.neshobacounty.net.  The Board further notices that if the Board deems that the public convenience and necessity require the revision of said ordinance, the Board would declare its intention to adopt said revised ordinance on December 2, 2024 with an effective date of January 2, 2025.  Public comments are encouraged and may be submitted to the address above or via email to info@neshobacounty.net.  The Board further notices the public that no new tax levy or assessments shall be created by said revised ordinance.
